VMS Measurement in Chennai
We are a grand company in Chennai in the field of VMS Measurement. For any questions contact us.
Measurement is the method of associating numbers with physical quantities and phenomena. Measurement is important to the sciences; to engineering, construction, and other technical fields; and to almost all everyday activities. For that reason the elements, conditions, limitations, and theoretical foundations of measurement have been much studied.
VMS Measurement
Vision Measuring Systems (VMS) can measure both 2D and 3D part features quickly and easily. These systems work using a video camera, operating complete zoom or telemetric lens, to detect the edge on a part (the difference between light and dark areas). In doing so with the aid of software can then compute a complete feature such as a point, a line, an arc, or a circle, or a sphere or cone in 3D.
Benefits of VMC Measuring
- VMS are an ideal measurement solution to measure small, flat, and flexible parts – either singularly or in batches using the CNC functionality of these systems.
- VMC is an ideal for measuring machined components, printed circuit boards, gaskets and rings, plastic mouldings and pressed metal components.
- VMS typically have a linear accuracy of +/- 5 microns in the X-Y measurement stage and slightly less in the Z-axis which is more than adequate for most measuring tasks.
- Most components are measured in 2D but in some cases, 3D measurements can be made with functions such as auto-focus with the system’s camera or with a touch-trigger probing system.
CMM Measurement
A coordinate measuring machine, also known as a CMM, is a piece of equipment that measures the geometries of physical objects. CMMs using a probing system to detect discreet points on the surfaces of objects. CMMs are most often used to test a part or assemble to determine whether or not it respects the original design intent. CMMs are integrated within quality assurance or quality control workflows to check the dimensions of manufactured components to prevent or resolve quality issues.
Advantage of CMM
- The advantage of the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is that it can measure items that are difficult to measure with other measuring machines with high accuracy.
- For example, it is difficult to measure the three-dimensional coordinates of a specific point (hole, etc.) from the virtual origin with a hand tool such as a calliper or micrometer. Also, measurement using virtual points and virtual lines and geometrical tolerances are difficult with other measuring machines, but can be measured with a 3D CMM machine.
